April 30, 2019 - Dallas (Texas) - Another memorable El Classico matchup took place in which Lonestar Republic (3-1-1) faced FF Premier (5-1-2) over the weekend in what ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Chase Withrow from FF Premier and Edduin Rodriguez from Lonestar Republic were the goal scorers.
"El Classico, every match with Lonestar is quality, a fight to the finish," FF Premier Head Coach Jesse Siragusa said.
Withrow scored on a through ball that was almost out of his reach but just the slightest bit of contact resulted in the game’s first goal just four minutes in. FF Premier had a chance to make it 2-0 before the half on a curling free kick which was headed just wide of the mark.
Lonestar would level things up just before the half on a low cross into the box which was then driven into the net by Edduin Rodriguez.
"We came out a little slow, which FF Premier capitalized on with an early goal, but we responded well and I feel like we were the better team in the second half. We had more opportunities and I think we were a bit unlucky to walk away with a draw." - Lone Star Republic Head Coach Zach Loyd said.
The second half saw many attempts from both sides to come out victorious in El Classico but game would end 1-1. FF Premier is on top of the League One in Central Conference with 6 point more than Lone Star Republic. However, the race for the automatic promotion spot is getting intense as Lone Star Republic still has 3 games not played yet.
