UPSL Womens Division Announces Cicero Jaguars FC as Illinois Expansion Team

Founded in 2009, Cicero (Ill.)-Based Pro Development Club Joins UPSL

June 6, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Cicero Jaguars Football Club as a member starting with the 2019 Season.

Based in Cicero (Ill.), Jaguars Football Club will begin play in the UPSL Women's Division Midwest Conference, and play its home games at Carbajal Field (3215 S. Central Ave., Cicero, IL 60804) in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.

United Premier Soccer League Women's Division Midwest Conference Manager Ulises Ornelas said, "We are pleased to welcome Cicero Jaguars FC to the UPSL Women's Division. The Chicagoland area and the Upper Midwest is full of talented players and clubs, and with their strong foundation we think Cicero Jaguars FC will be a quality addition to the Midwest Conference. We wish Owner Jose Montenegro and his club the best as they prepare to kick off this season."

Cicero Jaguars FC is committed to providing players of all economic backgrounds an opportunity to compete and grow both on and off the field. The club is dedicated to giving players the chance to reach their full potential as people by teaching applicable life skills.

Jose Montenegro is Owner and President of Cicero Jaguars Football Club. Juan Salazar is Vice President.

Angelica Salazar serves as General Manager of Cicero Jaguars FC. Esmerelda Valencia is Assistant General Manager.

Cicero Jaguars FC General Manager Angelica Salazar said, "We are looking for more competitive games for our players and our club so that they can move forward in their development and be better. We're expecting to find good games and a good level of competition in the UPSL Women's Division, and we're excited to be taking this next step."

Isaias Carrera is Head Coach of Cicero Jaguars FC. Jasmine Carrera serves as Assistant Coach.

Well recognized throughout the upper Midwest, Cicero Jaguars FC features girls recreational and competitive teams from Under-10s to Under-18s, and servicing more than 60 players in the greater Chicagoland area.

Cicero Jaguars FC will host tryouts on June 24 at Carbajal Field. The club soon its upcoming game schedule.

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 400-plus teams targeted for 2019 Fall Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
