Fall 2019 Schedule Announced

Published Sep 7, 2019

San Antonio Runners have released their Fall 2019 United Premier Soccer League Schedule along with the dates for the 2020 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Qualifying Rounds.

With 6 home games and 6 away, the Runners will be playing Coyotes FC of Killeen, Bell County FC of Belton, Capital City FC of Austin, Alamo City SC and Corinthians FC of San Antonio.

The Runners and the Coyotes are the only returning teams to the Heart Division for the fall 2019 season and will begin the 3 game Acme Derby on Saturday September 21, in the Open Cup 1st Qualifying Round at Coyotes' Stadium.

The Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, commonly known as the US Open Cup, is a knock-out cup competition in American soccer. It is the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the U.S. The 105th edition, held in 2018, was contested by 97 clubs from the two professional leagues sanctioned by the United States Soccer FederationMajor League Soccer (MLS), and the United Soccer League (USL; since renamed the USL Championship), and also amateur clubs in the earlier rounds of the tournament after qualifying through their leagues. The overall champion earns a total of $300,000 in prize money, while the runner-up receives $100,000, and the furthest-advancing team from each lower division league receives $25,000. In addition, the tournament winner qualifies for the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League.

The Runners are the only men's adult amatuer team south of Austin participating in the tournament and are looking forward to a more successful run than during their inagural season last fall.

Join the Runners at The University of Texas at San Antonio's Main Campus Recreation Fields for all of their home games. All home games will be live streamed on Facebook and YouTube at @sarunnerssc, and will later be uploaded to MyCujoo.tv.
