NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: San Antonio Runners SCs Mikey Maldonado

Runners SC Captain Had Two Goals and Two Assists in 5-2 Victory

September 11, 2019 – Los Angeles – San Antonio Runners SC Midfielder Michael "Mikey" Maldonado has been selected UPSL National Player of the Week. A native of San Antonio (Texas), Maldonado scored two goals and had two assists in a 5-2 victory over San Antonio Corinthians FC in a UPSL 2019 Fall Season Central Conference Heart Division I game on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2019.

Maldonado played 90 minutes in the season opener for San Antonio Runners SC (1-0-0 overall), which begins its third campaign in the UPSL.

Maldonado graduated from San Antonio (Texas)' Samuel Clemens HS before matriculating to Saint Louis University in Missouri. The Runners SC Team MVP during their inaugural UPSL season in Fall 2018, Maldonado has captained the team each of the last three seasons.

The UPSL National Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by members of the league and journalists covering the UPSL, and decided by the fans via Twitter poll.
